The University of North Texas is committed to ensuring an educational and employment environment that is free of discrimination and harassment on the basis of sex.
Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 is the federal statute that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. It reads:
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
UNT’s Title IX Coordinator is the university official responsible for coordinating the university’s compliance with Title IX, including the university’s grievance procedures for resolving Title IX complaints.
