Dr. Teresa McKinney headshot

The Division of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access is pleased to announce two new employees joined the IDEA team in March 2022. Dr. Teresa McKinney has been appointed assistant vice president and director of Diversity & Inclusion. With over twenty years in academe, she was most recently vice president for Student Services & Enrollment Management at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas from 2019-2022. Teresa is no stranger to UNT! Before working at Texas Southern, she served as assistant vice president of Student Affairs, Health & Wellness and as an adjunct professor in the College of Education at UNT. Teresa looks forward to “ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion are pillars of our institution, guiding our actions and commitment to creating centers of belonging and connectedness.”

Dr. Marcella Clinard headshot

Also joining the IDEA Division is Dr. Marcella Clinard, new assistant director of Diversity & Inclusion. Marcella recently completed a doctoral degree in Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies at Texas Woman’s University where she also served as an instructor. A self-described anti-racist feminist scholar-activist, she is acutely aware of the need for diversity, equity, and inclusion in universities and looks forward to providing dynamic DEI training to the UNT community.
