On May 31, 2020, the UNT Black Student Union released a statement regarding recent events, and updated the list of demands to the university that was previously released in November 2019.
The student demands published by the Student Government Association (SGA) in November 2019.
The Blue Ribbon Committee on African-American Student Concerns was formed to consider the demands requested by the Black Student Alliance June 9, 1995. These are the Committee’s recommendations.
President Smatresk and UNT leaders from across the university worked together to create an action plan to ensure our university better incorporates initiatives targeted at advancing diversity and inclusion on campus. The action plan was announced and published June 17, 2020.
VP of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access, Joanne Woodard, created a PowerPoint presentation with information gathered from UNT's divisions and departments outlining the updates that have been made since the action plan was published in June 2020.
